Please steal my HEART instead...

I'm just going to say that it's been a VERY long week... I'll try to remember everything, but it's not a promise...

Last Wednseday, the roommates thought it would be a good idea to have a tour of the "luxury" shops. I said, well sure, why not?

While it was very interesting, it was humiliating at the same time. I hope one day I can afford to buy myself luxury things, but for now, it's just not an option. It was like a tease. I don't like being teased.
It's actually one of the things in the world I hate the most.
But the stores were beautiful, nonetheless.

The price on this bag reads 20,600 EURO. Yes. TWENTY THOUSAND. You're crazy, LV.
And this dress? This little black sequined dress was my entire budget for the rest of my stay in Paris. Sorry, LBD :(

This was just awful. It's my dream to have a pair of Jimmy Choos. I didn't even go inside because I was so embarassed.

I will say that I fell IN LOVE with a pair of Chanel pumps. They were 550 Euro. So if I save enough money, I might have to buy them. They were black patent leather with chrome on the front platform engraved with CHANEL. SO HOT.

So after all the torture, we visited the Luxembourg Gardens. By this point, I am emotionally exhausted, so we went through it relatively quickly. But it was amazing.
A model of the statue of liberty always puts a smile on my face. No matter where I am in the world, I'm one PROUD AMERICAN.

These were flowers donated for the victims of terrorism leftover from 9/11/11.
Makes you proud, doesn't it?

And this is a famous fountain, La Fontaine Medici
It was gorgeous, but it was a shame that the water was so polluted.

After a long day, we went home to rest for awhile, then I decided to go and meet a French friend in St. Michel. His name is Wissem, and he is a rapper. Haha. We had a really good time. We went to a bar that is obsessed with sparklers and fireworks and such. It was fun. Different, crazy, but fun :)

Ironically, I met a man that had lived and worked in HOUMA! Go figure. It's really a small world.

Thursday was a good day. Marketing class was ok, nothing special that week, really.
Thursday night, Lauma and I decided to go to Club Mix. We got all dolled up, and I did her makeup for her. She looked HOT! It was supposed to be a Mexican party or something, but there was nothing Mexican about it. But it was so awesome. It reminded me of the huge nightclubs that we went to in Cancun on my senior trip. We had a blast.

Friday was supposed to be a field trip with Santiago because he is one of my group members in French Civilzation, and we have to do a presentation on the 11th, 12th, and 20th arrondissements.
So we went to the spot where the three arrondissements share borders.
Great starting point... But

After that, we couldn't really find our way around. We were looking for O Chateau, which was a wine tasting place in the area. We ended up not being able to find ANYTHING, so we ended up at the Irish Pub. I just want to say that I LOVE IRISH PUBS. They make me feel so at home because the bartenders speak English and are very welcoming. Needless to say, overall, the field trip was not a success. Neither educationally or financially. As you can see:

Oh! And I got to try curry for the first time. These are curry fries, and they are oh so delcious.

We pretty much LICKED the plate; it was THAT GOOD.

We finally managed to find our way home: a happy ending to a long, LOST, day.

Saturday we went back to Versailles to tour the Chateau. I think I missed a floor. It's quite complicated. So I guess I will have to go back AGAIN to complete it. It's huge! I ran through pretty quickly; I wasn't feeling so good.

These were only a few of the pictures. There are so many. Check out my facebook for the entire album.

Saturday night there was a light/fireworks show at La Grande Arche featuring "The Little Prince". It was absolutely breathtaking. The videos are so much better, but the video feature on my blog is not functional. I posted a few to facebook, but it's really more like a you-had-to-have-been-there kinda thing.

Afterwards, we decided to go to Notre Dame and St. Michel to meet up with some friends. Lauma also had two friends visiting from Latvia, so we met up with them, too. We ended up having such a good time. The night is usually much better than the day...

If you look closely, this was a guy vomitting his guts up in the trash right next to Notre Dame. Guess he can't handle Paris ;)

We ended up finding this really awesome little jazz bar. There was an older man there, cuttin a rug, and turns out he is a dance teacher. He taught Lauma and I to dance, and it was definitely a good time.

The boys from Latvia left Sunday, so we finally got to do part of the Midnight in Paris tour.
I really need to watch the movie. I watched the trailer and it looks really good. Plus, I love Rachel McAdams. She's one of my favorite actresses.

The first stop on the tour was Musee Rodin. We toured it very quickly because we got there really late...

Once again, only a few.. it takes way too long to post them all here.

Monday night, I made corn soup, and we had Lauma over for dinner. She loved it so much she was licking the pot! hahah.
Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the awesome soup because on Tuesday, Ale and I went to Duplex, and someone stole my iPhone. I don't know what it is with me and EVERYONE wanting to rob me, mug me, steal from me, break into my car... I JUST DON'T GET IT. All of you iPhone lovers out there can imagine how upsetting this was, and still is. I've been praying that I get it back, but I don't think it's gonna happen. My heart is seriously broken. Why can't someone steal my heart instead.. This is the city of LOVE right?!?!?

Anyway, Wednesday I stayed in bed until about 2pm because I was so distraught. After managing to get out of bed, I went to hang out with Laura. We miss her now that she's not on our couch anymore. We went for sushi, and while we were about to order, Stephen, the bartender at James Joyce told us they had chicken curry. So we only ordered one roll and saved the rest of our appetites for the curry. Lauma came to meet us at the pub. The curry, eh, wasn't so good, but the night was a blast. James Joyce even has coke in glass bottles. How cool?!?!
Let's just say we ended up staying there all night and now there are poems about Stephen and our love of James Joyce Pub taped to the walls.

All in all, I had a really good time with my girls, and it made me realize that the most important things in life are not material things (like my iPhone). It's spending time with the people you love and doing the things you love to do.

So if you're reading this, take some time to tell the people you love how much you love them and appreciate them. Because once they're gone (or across the world) you're really going to miss them.

With that being said. I miss and love you all dearly, and I hope y'all miss me too :)

That is all for now.

I have the apartment to myself for the weekend, so who knows what kind of trouble I'm going to get into...  (Don't flip out, mom.. it's a joke).

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Later Gators!

À plus tard!
